FEnIKS Programme | What projects can be funded?

Support for the energy and environment sectors

Special goal: Promoting energy efficiency and reducing GHG emissions

Funding will be available e.g. for thermal modernisation of buildings, improving the energy efficiency of processes, high-efficiency cogeneration, and RES.

Allocation amount: EUR 2,536,000,000

Special goal: Supporting the transition towards circular and resource-efficient economy

Allocation amount: EUR 160,000,000

Funding will be awarded to activities involving the construction of new and expansion or modernisation of existing installations in terms of their capacity to perform recovery processes, as well as projects in the area of rationalising resource-intensive operations in enterprises throughout the life cycle of a product or service.

Special goal: Promoting renewable energy in accordance with Directive (EU) 2018/2001, including the sustainability criteria it specifies

Funding will be provided for constructing heat and power generation installations as well as producing alternative fuels from RES together with energy storage facilities dedicated to a given RES, grid connection, and possible grid reconstructions.

Allocation amount: EUR 538,000,000

Special goal: Developing smart energy systems and grids as well as energy storage systems outside the Trans-European Network for Energy (TEN-E)

Funding will be provided for expanding or modernising power lines of all voltages and substations as well as projects comprising both of these components.

Allocation amount: EUR 1,822,000,000

Special goal: Supporting access to water and sustainable water management

Funding will be provided for investments involving the intake, treatment, storage, and distribution of potable water, including, among other things, reducing water loss and improving water recovery.

Allocation amount: EUR 180,000,000

Urban transport

Special goal: Supporting sustainable multi-modal urban mobility as part of the transition to zero-carbon economy

Funding will be awarded to investments involving public transport infrastructure and rolling stock, transfer hubs, ITS systems, and IT solutions.

Allocation amount: EUR 2,000,000,000

Intermodal transport

Special goal: Developing and improving sustainable, climate resilient, smart, and intermodal mobility at national, regional, and local levels, including improving access to TEN-T and cross-border mobility

Funding will be awarded e.g. to constructing or reconstructing intermodal terminal infrastructure, including dedicated rail infrastructure, acquiring or modernising equipment necessary for the operation of intermodal terminals as well as telematic and satellite systems related to intermodal transport.

Allocation amount: EUR 230,000,000
