  • business environment institutions, i.e. entrepreneurship centres, innovation centres, and financial institutions.

FENG Programme | Modular support

The modular approach to projects under the SMART Path (Priority 1) is the biggest change compared to the previous programme.

Entrepreneurs now submit one application in which they can combine support under selected modules. An application should always include at least one mandatory module but may feature any number of optional modules.

Modules replaced the division into Activities and Sub-Activities supporting one project type (e.g. only R&D Works or only Implementing Investments) which made it necessary to submit separate applications for funding respective types of projects.

Obligatory modules

- Industrial research and development works
- Projects of individual entrepreneurs and consortia

- Implementing the results of R&D works conducted independently under the obligatory module
- Implementing the results of R&D works previously performed/acquired by the entrepreneur

Optional modules

- Establishing and expanding R&D centres to execute the research agenda
- Infrastructure used for industrial works or experimental development works

- Internet of Things
- Digital twins
- Big Data
- Robotisation of production lines
- Data analytics and production optimisation
- Systems enhancing cybersecurity
- Software reducing the cost of prototyping and introducing new products

- Substituting or reducing the content of hazardous substances in materials and products
- Eco-design (ETV, LCA, PEF)
- Re-using resources previously treated as waste
- Substituting primary materials with secondary resources and by-products

- Commercialising the results of R&D works abroad
- Participating in international supply chains
- Promoting products or services on foreign markets
- Obtaining or maintaining IPR outside Poland

Gaining new skills and knowledge in the field of:
- smart specialties
