The main goal of the Horizon Europe program is to fund breakthrough research and innovation carried out by international consortia.
It is the largest program with a budget of EUR 1.7 billion for 2022.
The requirements are strict, and each project must demonstrate the so-called European added value. One of the competitions in the Horizon Europe program is EIC Accelerator, which will support breakthrough innovations of entrepreneurs from the SME sector.
The competition is aimed at companies that have great growth potential and want to implement innovative solutions. There is a suitable support measure to match each innovation, regardless of whether it is created in the technology sector or, for example, in the social or service sector.
Entities meeting the SME criteria or entities meeting the criteria of the so-called small mid-caps – employing up to 500 people with an advanced research product or solution at the TRL 5/6 level (i.e. a demonstration of a prototype or model of the system in conditions similar to real ones).
In 2022, applications in the EIC Accelerator call will be open under two types of call for proposals:
It has no pre-defined thematic priorities and is open to suggestions from any field of technology or application.
