Roman Rewald has taken up the position of senior strategic advisor at CRIDO, strengthening the firm's expertise in consulting US clients. It is yet another step in the implementation of CRIDO's strategy of international practice growth.

Roman Rewald is the former chairman of the Board of Directors of the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) in Poland. He currently serves as President of the Lewiatan Mediation Centre and an arbitrator in the Courts of Arbitration of the Lewiatan Confederation and the National Chamber of Commerce.

“Roman Rewald is among the most recognised and experienced lawyers who has been supporting American clients in Poland for over 30 years. I am immensely pleased that he is joining the CRIDO team as senior strategic advisor and will strengthen our business competences in consulting US companies, among other things” – says Andrzej Puncewicz, managing partner of CRIDO.

US organisations are among top foreign investors in Poland. In 2022, trade turnover between Poland and the United States reached a record USD 27.2 billion.

“70% of our clients are international organisations. We have been supporting them in all business, tax, and legal issues related to their expansion to the Polish market and their subsequent operations for years. Our activity is divided into respective international desks, including German-speaking (DACH states), French or Anglo-Saxon (UK & USA). Roman's experience will help us better understand the specificity of operations pursued by US organisations and expand our offer. We are also convinced that Roman will be a source of inspiration for CRIDO team members, especially the firm's numerous attorneys” – adds Andrzej Puncewicz

“American investors have played a huge role in Poland since the beginning of the country’s transformation through investing capital, enabling access to the international market, introducing modern management methods, training talented managers, and contributing in many other valuable ways. As a result, they often achieved excellent economic results. There is still room in Poland for cutting-edge American investments and continued good economic performance” – says Roman Rewald.

Roman Rewald specialises in corporate affairs, energy, and real estate. He also has extensive experience in handling joint ventures, direct investments, banking, and mergers and acquisitions. Roman has both Polish and American legal training: he is a lawyer licensed to practice in Michigan (USA) and is listed as a foreign lawyer by the District Bar in Warsaw. He left the USA for Poland in 1991 to become a legal advisor to the World Bank, focusing on financing residential construction in Poland. In 1992, he joined the Warsaw office of the New York-based Weil, Gotshal & Manges law firm and was its partner until 2016 (he is now partner emeritus).
