EUDR (European Deforestation Free Products Regulation) are EU regulations imposing obligations on entrepreneurs importing, trading and exporting goods and products which acquisition and production may contribute to deforestation and forest degradation (e.g. wood, rubber, palm oil, soy, coffee , cocoa, cattle and derived products such as paper, furniture, tires, food).
Entities covered by EUDR are obliged, under penalties, to implement due diligence and risk assessment procedures to ensure that they do not trade in goods originating from deforested areas, and to collect appropriate due-diligence statement for each batch of goods.
The EUDR regulation obliges companies to document their supply chain and prove that their products do not contribute to deforestation. This is a process requiring precise documentation, supplier communication, and geolocation of raw materials.
